Note that the AWL system makes every effort to accurately differentiate between duplicate leads from the same partner (which are not really duplicates, but rather re-tries), and duplicate leads from different partners, which are true duplicates. For more information, please refer to the section entitled "Idempotence and Duplicate Detection" later in this document.

Lead Source Id

Back To Contents

The Version 4.0 API allows partners to pass a "Lead Source Id" in the XML. The "Lead Source Id" field is for partners to pass some sort of string identifier that identifies the source from which the partner received the lead. This field helps the process of source optimization.

The "Lead Source Id" field is a string with a maximum length of 20. Below is an example affiliateInfo node where the "Lead Source Id" is included:

Code Block

<AffiliateInfo>
    <Username>User</Username>
    <Password>Pass</Password>
    <TrackingCampaign>MyCampaign</TrackingCampaign>
    <LeadSourceID>12345</LeadSourceID>
    <ProductionEnvironment>true</ProductionEnvironment>
</AffiliateInfo>

See Lead Format Schema for more details.
